Selydove: the spot on the map
Selydove is a town in the Donetsk region located on the river Solona, 40 kilometres west of the regional centre and 20 kilometres from Pokrovsk, which is currently one of the most active areas of the frontline. Around 20 thousand people lived here before. Now, the situation in its district has significantly deteriorated. Russian troops have pushed forward close to the nearby settlements: Marynivka and Ukrains’k. Invaders have been long storming the town. They are leading offensive operations simultaneously from several sides, but the Ukrainian military is holding the line.
Editor's note. As of October 29, 2024, heavy fighting is taking place in the town and its outskirts, most of it is under occupation, shootings of the civilians by the occupiers have been recorded. As of October 30, 2024, Selydove and nearby villages are completely captured.
